The Datang Luopingshan, Qilongshan and Fengle wind farms in Yunnan Province have carried out quality and efficiency improvement renovations of grid-connected equipment, involving technical renovations of 117 converters. The original brand of converter has a high failure rate, does not have high-voltage ride-through function, and there is a shortage of spare parts. As a crucial link in the grid connection process of the fan system, the operation of the converter seriously affects the availability of the wind turbine unit. Hopewind Electric provides customers with a customized renovation scheme: replacing the converter control system and power modules, adding grid-connected contactors and remote monitoring, and completing the renovation during the small wind window period to ensure efficient production for customers. The project uses 117 sets of 1.25MW wind power converters from Hopewind with a total capacity of 146MW.
