Recently, the Fangchenggang Long Material Auxiliary Drive Project undertaken by Hopewind and its partners has been fully commissioned and will be put into operation soon. It can be said that this project is the largest application of domestic frequency converter in the long material production line.

Fangchenggang Long Material Auxiliary Drive Project includes 4-bar and 3-high-speed wire auxiliary drive equipment, covering heating furnace area, cooling bed area, collection area, Stelmor cooling fan and water system. It adopts more than 500 frequency converters, all of which are Hopewind HD2000 Series engineering-type and HV500 Series high-performance frequency converters, with a total power of nearly 60,000kW.

The heating furnace area of this project includes feeding, roller conveying, weighing, furnace loading and discharging, etc., transporting the qualified hot blanks for rolling on the rolling line. The high-speed wire adopts frequency converter to control the fan, thus achieving obvious energy-saving effect. The smooth starting of current can reduce the impact of the system on transformer and power grid, reduce the impact on mechanical equipment, decrease the accident rate of the fan and greatly improve the working efficiency.

Hopewind frequency converter has many advantages, such as excellent control performance, abundant functions, complete categories, and wide power coverage area. The single power of of its low-voltage product is 0.4kW - 1,400kW, while the parallel machine power can reach 1,1200kW. Its medium-voltage product has a power range of 5MW - 60MW, which can fully cover various drive requirements of metallurgical industry.

Recently, the complete set of Hopewind drive system has been delivered to Fangchenggang for on-site commissioning after leaving the factory. The large-scale adoption of Hopewind frequency converter in this project reflects the high trust of users and integrators in the quality of Hewang products, in virtue of the successful and wide application of Hopewind frequency converters in various complex occasions in the field of metallurgy in recent years. In the future, it will certainly play a huge role in promoting the overall localization of frequency converter in the metallurgical industry.
