High speed maglev rail transit has the characteristics of high speed, low energy consumption and large traffic volume, suitable for the long-distance high-speed transportation. In order to fill the gap between high-speed rail and air transport, the high-speed maglev with a speed of 600km/h was officially launched as a national key project in China in 2016. As a major participant, the Institute of Electrical Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was responsible for the design of the main traction system of such national key project. Hopewind closely cooperated with the Institute of Electrical Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences to jointly develop a set of 24MW medium-voltage IGCT high-power frequency converter.
